Seven things women in business can learn from Cat Smith’s election campaign

Cat-Smith-MP and-The-Growing-Club

I have absolutely no idea what the heck is going on with UK politics right now, but recently we had a General Election and Cat Smith our MP significantly increased her majority changing her seat from marginal to solid after just 2 years. I watched her campaign closely and her approach provides some good lessons for women in business.

A week of not being Wonder Woman

I-am-good-enough

Being your own fairy godmother

fairy-god-mother

I had been waiting for things to happen so that I can have the things I want. When my daughter is rich, when I marry a millionaire… Seriously! Which probably means there are a huge number of  people out there who never get to act on their dreams.

growing-club-graduation

We know that when coaching is good it significantly increases focus and business productivity, but not everyone can afford a coach.

Here’s 2017 – looking quite a lot like 2016!

Women in business

This post is  for each and every one of us who still falls into the trap of looking at others and feeling intimidated by their success. That’s just the bit we see, just the bit they show to the world. We don’t see how they fell on their ass 100 times a year, because it isn’t cool to share those bits – the bits with snot and tears.

On blogging and guest blogging – marketing for the small business

blogging-for-business-group

In the July Growing Club session we ran a class on  marketing, which is still an area that many small business owners feel icky about. This is often because they feel it requires a huge budget, or that they don’t have the skills. But we need to get our heads around our marketing or we will waste […]

The political is personal – sustaining ourselves when our passion is our work.

judi-marshall-at sheissustainable

This week I’ve been fortunate enough to attend the #SheisSustainable conference at Lancaster University, spend a whole day with my business coach and end the week with a gong bath! So I feel well and truly topped up and grounded around my business. The She is Sustainable event was a very interesting 2 days looking at issues for women in the sustainability […]
