Getting Seen – Again

In February we ran Getting Seen in Lancaster. Getting Seen 2 is in Garstang in October

In February this year a team of us ran Getting Seen, a marketing master-class for organisations who do their marketing in-house.   This came about because we were hearing heartbreaking stories of small businesses wasting literally thousands of pounds on unfocussed, and thus unsuccessful, marketing just because they didn’t know what else to do.

Small businesses do not have thousands of pounds to throw away. Leaflets and newspaper adverts are all good for marketing, but they need to be a  part of your joined up marketing strategy for that year.

So we came up with a plan –  A day of workshops that enables people to leave with a clear marketing action strategy, and we follow up to see how that is going.

People battled through the snow to get there and this is what some of the  participants  had to say about it :

We were really pleased with how the day focussed people’s thinking, but more to the point how they have implemented those plans since.

Then we realised that we could do even better, so we agreed to run Getting Seen 2  – sadly without Dave Guest and Workshop media :(   but we are delighted to now have Jenny Pollard (a Getting Seen participant) and singer Vicky Munson  in the team :)

We’ve kept what worked well and also  made some tweeks and  added some new bits.  So we still have Sarah Thornton doing SMART Marketing, Tom Cumpsty on website content strategy and me on LinkedIn and Twitter, but also  Jenny’s  workshop – ‘Are you Getting Seen? – understanding your analytics’, a much needed session.   Plus  we are delighted to end the day with a workshop by  Vicky who  is tackling the dreaded 60 seconds, to make sure that you are seen, heard and remembered.

Stuart and Ann from Wyrebank were participants at the last one  and are  now hosting it, which means a great venue and great food, and being in Garstang it is easier access for Preston and Blackpool too.

There is even great stuff on at lunchtime. In addition to a scrummy lunch, writer Sarah Cruickshank, who helped me to get The Super Women of Lancashire published,  is running a session on producing an e-book , and Jack Knight will draw you a cartoon avatar for your social media profiles.

There is also the opportunity to have a professional photograph taken with Eleanor Postlethwaite  for just £10, to ensure that your LinkedIn profile and press release images look great.

I am pretty darn excited about the day. I don’t think we could squeeze  anything else in at all.  My only disappointment is that I can’t sit in on all the workshops myself!

Take a look at the  full line up here .
So, if you do your marketing in house and are sick of wasting time and money, would like some new ideas and to get a clear action plan together, then this is probably just what you need.

You can book your places here https://gettingseen2.eventbrite.co.uk/ and if  you get in quick you can still catch the early bird rate (available until September 23rd).

Hope too see you there x
