What is Lancaster Social Network?

On June 11th we have the 2nd Lancaster Social Network event

This is an open, cross sector, networking event and it is free as White Cross Business Park have provided accommodation free of charge – you just have to pay for your brew.

There are no restrictions on entry, no requirements and we aim to meet just three times a year because everyone is busy.

So have we just organised another networking event?

Who is it for?

This is an Open networking event. It is aimed  everyone and encourages people to grow their contact circle outside of professional, personal, cultural restraints.

Where is it?

This one is at Lancaster and Morecambe College conference centre, Torrisholme Rd. between 5p.m. and 7p.m.

What does it cost?

The event is free. There will be a small charge for refreshments.

To keep this free we need people to offer to host the events.

What are its aims?

  • There are a number of membership based, group based, society based social networking events in the city. The Lancaster Social wants to cross-pollinate from all sectors.
  • We hope to bring together business, government, academia, communities, network organisations and interests groups in a single location to encourage interaction.
  • We also hope to introduce low cost/freely available tools to help businesses and social groups to use digital media and have a section called ‘bring your problem’, a Q&A slot  where people can suggest an issue and the whole group can suggest an answer. This is peer-based learning, encouragement and interaction.

Do I need to be a Member/have obligations?

Nope. You can join as a member, this is also free and membership just indicates support of the idea.

You can even add your organisation to our website  www.lancastersocial.org free of charge.

Can I bring stuff to market myself/organisation at the event?

Hell, yes. We actively encourage it, go ahead. This isn’t about restricting but enabling and supporting. A community as rich as Lancaster’s survives on diversity and we hope to enhance that.

Are there tickets?

We are using eventbrite to monitor  numbers – sign up here:
If you forget, or are just as disorganised as the rest of us, turn up, don’t stress we’ll still let you in.

So…

If you would like to come along then please book in here and do pass this on to anyone else that would benefit.

The September event will be at The Hall, Lancaster. If you would like to donate your venue for a future Lancaster Social Network event, please get in touch.

Cheers
