A simple ‘How To’ guide to scheduling tweets on twitter.

Did you know that you can schedule tweets on twitter now?   I didn’t! It must be twitter’s best kept secret. It was a client of mine that told me.

It’s easy peasy  once you have found it, so I’ve created a short screen cast video  for you.  The sound isn’t great, sorry, (still waiting for half decent broadband connection!) but all you need is on screen anyway.

The best bit of this is that you can schedule tweets with photos that show as an image rather than the link that you get  if you schedule with a 3rd party app.

STOP PRESS!

Once you have exited you cant get back in to edit or delete a tweet though – I found this out when I did test tweets for this video!

I raised this with twitter and got this response…

Thank you for identifying this issue. Scheduled Tweets were built as a Twitter Ads product and we’ve accidentally left out some usability features when users use Scheduled Tweets without a promoted campaign. We’re working on this and hope to have a fix fairly soon, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

if you enter your credit card information you will gain access to the creatives tab where you will be able to see and delete your tweet.

If you found that useful please drop me a comment below and let me know 🙂

    Thanks for this useful tip

I’m wondering if you’ve ever had a Twitter ad campaign in the past – hence your cog has the Twitter Ad option. I’ve not done a campaign from my own account and the cog pull down doesn’t have the option.

Busy checking out other accounts right now !

Hi Ian, thanks for the feedback. No I haven’t done an ad campaign on twitter. It looks like they are just rolling this out now. So hot off the press as they say 🙂

I used to use this but haven’t been able to find it for a few months. Creatives tab has disappeared and just the Analytics tab remains. The quill has also disappeared in top right. Just my profile and create ad option remains. Twitter must have dropped the free service?

Hi Sylivia, yes they said it was an oversight, but I didn’t think they would remove it. Hey ho! Buffer is still good though 🙂
