Supporting People Who Struggle To Find The Words

Last month I published my new book The Heart of Sales, which I happily admit was a blood sweat and tears job, made possible only by the generous support of  friends who gave their time to help with editing , structure and proof reading – because I’m Dyspraxic.

I’m not  new to writing but this was a big task and without that support I may well have shelved it.

That got me thinking about all the businesses and organisations that are run by people with various learning needs, how do they manage?  Our digital age has really helped many people with disabilities to be able to communicate with the world, but when it comes to producing a piece of marketing etc, we need to get the words right – and that’s not always easy. Being a trainer who is dyspraxic I have a good understanding of how people learn differently and I have a number of clients who are dyslexic,  on the autistic spectrum and deaf so I know how hard that can be.

So I got together with three other Lancashire women in business who I work with and respect, Anastasja Katzinova,  Jackie Speight and the co-founder of Women on the Web, Sharon Jackson –  and we are going to offer that support to others.

The plan…

Once a month we will post on our  Facebook page We Are Women on the Web,  inviting people who are struggling to find the words and who have a piece of work that they want some support with, to let us know. And every month we will pick someone and give them free support.

Yep, every single month we will pick someone to get a free service

What can we support you with?

We want to support people who struggle ‘to find the right words’; who maybe have a web page that needs editing; who need help to find the right words for a social media bio,  who want a flyer editing for a community project, or even who just want us to look over a  application form.

This is aimed at supporting  people that are starting up, or have very limited resources. But we obviously  also offer a paid service,  so please contact us if you want to know more about that.

So check out our Facebook page and we will post our first invitation next Friday,  September 25th, and then the last Friday of each month.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this, so please contact us via our facebook page or drop a comment below x
