Jane works with women, in groups and on a one to one basis, who want to grow their business or organisation whilst maintaining a well balanced life.
As a single mum launching and growing my business in a male dominated field I have learnt a thing or two about what it means to be a woman in the world of business.
Business education inevitably has a male bias so with the huge rise of female led businesses I recognised a need for a fresh approach that took on board an understanding of gender socialisation and the fact that domestic responsibilities still mostly falls to women.
The Growing Club CIC
In 2015 Jane Binnion and Rachel Holme founded The Growing Club, a 12 month peer coaching club for women who want to grow their business but are overlooked by mainstream business growth support, can’t afford a coach or want an alternative model.
There is significant evidence globally that women working together produce considerably more that the sum of their parts. We wanted to see what would happen if a group of female business owners came together for a year to support and challenge each other to grow sustainable healthy businesses. We were not disappointed with the results.
Joining The Growing Club has made me focus on what is important in my business in order to create sustainable growth. Being a sole trader, I found it hard to make unemotional decisions, but working alongside like-minded people I feel I am in control of my destiny and business growth. Meeting the team of women in The Growing Club has been such a bonus to me and I don’t feel so alone at all now. I know help is always there for me.

One to one coaching for women wanting more intensive support and accountability.
I work one to one with women who have lost focus, who are feeling overwhelmed, or who would benefit from an accountability partner.
… it has really helped me to refocus and feel more positive about the future.
I offer one off coaching days for intensive work, or coaching packages ranging from 3 to 12 months. The aim is not to create dependence but to empower you to find ways to grow a healthy business or organisation whilst also taking care of yourself, as that is the only sustainable option.
I work with women to set long term goals and break those down into achievable bite size pieces, moving from fear and overwhelm to engaged and motivated.
If you are not local to Lancaster the joy of the internet means we can do these sessions via skype.
Spinning Plates
Due to the record rates of burn out amongst women right now Jane and Liz Neat designed Spinning Plates, a one day workshop to enable women to step back, look at how they got so busy and make decisions about their priorities. This course is run as a public or in-house course for women business owners or women wanting to seek leadership roles but fearful of losing work-life balance.

Seminars – Doing it Differently
Jane delivers engaging, challenging and fun seminars and speaks at events, on the issues facing women in business and women in leadership in the 21st Century, exploring what we can do to ensure we thrive in this period of transition.
The Super Women of Lancashire
My initial research into the lives of women in business led to the book The Super Women of Lancashire which told the real stories of 26 women who chose entrepreneurship. This inspiring book is ideal for any woman thinking of setting up in business or anyone who trains, coaches or mentors women in business.

A charming book with some great stories that should encourage many other women to have a go. Jane’s own story is truly one to inspire and the idea of putting this collection together deserves a big thank-you from all would be Super Women.
